Which Molecules Will Not Show Ir Spectrum? [Solved]
Well, homonuclear diatomic molecules like H2, N2 and O2 don’t show up on IR spectra ‘cause they don’t have a permanent dipole moment. In other words, the stretching of the atoms around the bond doesn’t create any dipole moment either. So, bottom line - no IR spectra for these guys!
