Wow, kanji sure is complicated! But don’t worry, it’s not as hard as it seems. Basically, there are three types of kanji: Jōyō (common use), Jinmeiyō (used in names), and Hyōgaiji (outside the chart). On readings are based on the Chinese pronunciation of a kanji. Got it? Cool!
